The pack is your best guide
Every Royal India pack carries the information you need. It's always the most up-to-date source – so please check it before you buy or cook.
Ingredients & allergens
Check the ingredient list and allergen statement on every pack, especially for wheat (gluten), milk and tree nuts.
Date marking
Best-before dates tell you how long a product keeps its quality when stored as directed.
Origin & supplier
Packs show where the product comes from and name Silk Route Imports Limited as the New Zealand supplier.
Storing your pantry
Good storage keeps staples at their best. Follow the directions on the pack; these are the basics.
- Basmati rice
- Keep in a cool, dry place in a sealed bag or airtight container, away from strong odours.
- Gur & shakkar
- Jaggery draws moisture from the air. Keep the jar tightly closed in a cool, dry cupboard and use a dry spoon.
- Biscuits
- Once opened, store in an airtight container to keep them crisp.
- Chakki Atta
- Store in a cool, dry place. Once opened, keep the bag sealed or move the flour to an airtight container.
- Soya chaap (canned)
- Store unopened cans in a cool, dry place. Once opened, transfer to a covered container and refrigerate.
